Learning Objective: Managing money is an important life skill. Students will demonstrate the ability to create a budget for yourself and/or your family, and shop wisely by making informed decisions about spending.
Instructions:
Create a budget for yourself and/or your family. This includes understanding:
Income and expenses
Setting financial goals
Allocating funds accordingly
Identifying areas where you can reduce spending and save money
Shop wisely by making informed decisions about spending. This includes:
Comparing prices
Using coupons and discounts
Avoiding impulse purchases
Understanding the difference between needs and wants
Recognizing when a sale or discount is not actually saving you money and knowing when it's best to wait for a better deal
Submit a reflection on your budget and shopping experience. This reflection should include:
Any challenges encountered during the budgeting process and how they were overcome
Any new insights or realizations about your spending habits
Any strategies or tools you used to shop wisely
Any changes you plan to make to your spending habits in the future
Submission Requirements:
Submit a completed budget spreadsheet or document.
Submit a reflection (written presentation, slideshow, infographic, etc…) on your budget and shopping experience.
