A total of 46 credits are required for graduation.
English Language Arts (9 credits):
English - 8 credits
Communications and Digital Literacy- 1 credit
*Note: A speech credit may meet the state communications and digital literacy requirement.
Mathematics (6 credits):
Algebra - 2 credits
Geometry - 2 credits
Student Choice - 2 credits
Algebra is met by taking Algebra Readiness and/or Algebra 1 or Algebra 2. AP Computer Science, Dual Credit Computer Science, and Dual Credit Engineering may be considered a math credit for students who have completed Algebra 2 standards.
Science (6 credits):
Lab-based - 2 credits
Student Choice - 4 credits
May include Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry, Earth, Space, and Environmental Sciences or approved Applied Science. AP Computer Science, Dual Credit Computer Science, and Dual Credit Engineering can be considered as either a math or science credit. A Lab-based science is one in which students are provided with the opportunity to manipulate equipment, materials, specimens or develop skills in observation and analysis and discover, demonstrate, illustrate or test scientific principles or concepts.
Social Studies (5 credits):
US History - 2 credits
American Government - 2 credits
Economics and Financial Literacy- 1 credit
Humanities (2 credits):
May include Visual Arts, Music, Theater, Dance, World History, World Language, or other humanities courses aligned to Idaho content standards for those subjects.
Health (1 credit):
CPR certification is required in the Health course.
Electives (17 credits):
An additional 17 elective credits of their own choosing as documented in an approved learning plan. At SROHS, the Senior Project is part of the 17 required elective credits.
Advanced Opportunities: Students have the opportunity to participate in options such as Dual Credit, Advanced Placement, Technical Competency Credit, or other such advanced programs.
Future Readiness Project: The Future Readiness Project is the capstone experience for students at Snake River Opportunities High School, replacing the traditional senior project with a more personalized, meaningful, and forward-focused approach.
This project is designed to demonstrate each student’s readiness for life beyond high school—whether in college, career, or other personal pathways—by integrating real-world application, self-reflection, and evidence of key competencies developed at SROHS.
ISAT 2.0- All 11th grade students must take the ISAT ELA, Math, and Science exams.
Civics Test: All secondary students must demonstrate that they have met the state civics and government standards by successfully earning an 80% on the civics test or alternate path. Successful completion of this requirement must be reflected on the student’s transcript.
Alternative Students: All Alternative Students are required to take these two courses: Physical Education; College and Career Exploration.
To participate in the SROHS graduation ceremony:
Students must earn a minimum of 12 credits through SROHS.
All district, state, and school credit and graduation requirements must be met.
All school fines and fees must be paid in full.
Students under suspension may be restricted from participating at the discretion of administration.
A student will have met the high school content and credit requirement for any required high school course if the course is taught by a properly certified teacher and reaches a set mastery standard for that course.
