(SROHS) FAQ
What is SROHS?
SROHS is a public school in the State of Idaho, accredited by Cognia and NCAA. We offer a customized educational experience, supporting your family's choices in education. Our certified teachers support students in all content areas through SROHS courses and provide access to IDLA courses and Dual Credit Courses from Colleges and Universities across the state of Idaho.
What do SROHS courses look like?
Students have the freedom to choose how they learn. With teacher and family support, they select the tools, curriculum, and resources that best fit their learning style to meet the requirements for the course (Framework for Learning). Students also have flexibility in how they show their learning. Some may choose to record a video, write a play, create artwork, design an infographic, or even build a model.
What is the learning process at SROHS?
SROHS uses a "Growth to Mastery" learning model based on a feedback cycle:
Learn: Students use the framework provided to guide their learning journey.
Do: Students complete a project or activity, applying what they've learned.
Respond: Teachers provide feedback on the student's work, guiding them towards mastery.
This cycle allows students to learn at their own pace, with persistent effort and continuous progress, leading towards mastery in their chosen topic.
What resources are available for SROHS students?
SROHS provides a variety of learning resources, including learning tools, learning experiences, and learning funds:
Learning Tools: These include recommended course learning tools such as online textbooks and interactive simulations.
Learning Experiences: Funds can be used to support learning experiences such as museum entrance fees and zoo entrance fees.
Learning Funds: These funds can be used to purchase learning tools and technology associated with learning from home, such as internet, school supplies, printers, laptops, and tutoring.
