SROHS offers a customized, student-driven learning experience. Students learn from home at their own pace with strong support from mentors and content teachers. Our model blends flexibility, mastery-based learning, and real-world relevance.
High quality work at SROHS is based on the EL Learning model and includes:
Craftsmanship – Attention to detail and pride in your work.
Complexity – Work that requires deep thinking and problem solving.
Authenticity – Work that is meaningful and reflects who you are.
All courses are organized around clear expectations, including:
Some surface learning activities
Project creation
Mastery of key concepts and skills
Rubrics aligned with success requirements for each topic
Mentors help you track your progress, and content teachers guide you on what success looks like.
Not regularly. Our model is asynchronous, so you can work on your own schedule. However, you’re required to:
Attend a weekly mentor meeting and Homebase
Complete a weekly check-in survey
Join tutoring or study sessions if assigned for extra support
Any student living in Idaho—from Blackfoot to Boise, Moscow to Twin Falls, and everywhere in between—is welcome to enroll, as long as they are committed to learning from home with a flexible and self-paced approach.
You’ll be connected with:
A dedicated mentor who checks in weekly
Content teachers who specialize in each subject area
Access to tutoring, feedback, and personalized learning pathways
We encourage students to aim for “Exemplary” levels in their work by:
Revising work for deeper understanding
Making connections to the real world
Pursuing creative and ambitious final products which can earn a weighted GPA with having to enroll in "special courses"
A reliable internet connection
A Chromebook or laptop (we can help provide one if needed)
Motivation to take ownership of your learning
