Grading Policy

Welcome to Summer School at Snake River Opportunities!
We’re excited to help you grow, learn, and earn credit at your own pace — but with summer being short and fast, attendance and engagement are key to success!

🎉 Step 1: Attend the REQUIRED Orientation!

Before anything else, you must attend one virtual orientation session:

🗓️ Date: Thursday, June 5th
⏰ Time Options:
→ 1:00 – 2:30 PM
→ (Yep, both options are the same — just pick one!)

📅 Deadline: Complete the orientation and all related tasks by June 10
🚫 Miss it? You’ll be removed from summer school.

💻 Weekly Attendance: 4 Hours of You + Us = Progress

Each week, you must attend 4 hours of scheduled virtual time with your mentor and/or a content teacher.

• 🧠 These sessions are for support, questions, feedback, and staying on track.

• 🗓️ Sessions are pre-scheduled, so plan ahead!

• 😅 Can’t make it? Let us know and reschedule within the same week!
  
  

🚨 Unexcused absences = red flags
2 missed sessions in a week = ❌ possible removal from summer school.

📈 Why This Matters: Your Grade Depends on It!

To earn credit this summer, you need to:

• ✅ Attend weekly sessions

• ✅ Complete at least 1 project OR 1 topic per week

• ✅ Show real progress
  
  

If you stop showing up or don’t make progress, your grade may be No Credit.

🔁 Bonus: If You’re Rocking It...

If you’re consistently attending, making progress, and meeting goals, your mentor might let you adjust your schedule later in the summer. We believe in flexibility once you’ve earned it!
