DC Writing and Rhetoric 1 (ENG 101) emphasizes the process and strategies of writing academic essays with critical attention to purpose and audience, focus and development to support a thesis, and organization and coherency. Students write essays and presentations based on readings, observations, and idea, develop various strategies to respond to different rhetorical situations, and edit for style, voice, and conventions of standard usage.

Topic 2 - I will think about myself as a writer and what my strengths are as well as what I need to work on.
Topic 3 - I will think about myself as a writer and what my strengths are as well as what I need to work on.
Topic 4 - I will consider ways I connect and disconnect with places surrounding me.
Topic 5 - I will learn about....I will watch or read some text and write a response about the use of technology.
Topic 6 - I will take a personality quiz and then write about my strongest traits and how I demonstrate that trait.
Topic 7 - I will learn about....I will look at the components of my personality and how they will serve me in the future.
Topic 8 - I will learn about....I will reflect on my use of social media and screen time.
