Algebra Readiness A
Course Description
In Algebra Readiness, students explore real and irrational numbers, bridging rational and real number systems. They delve into rigid transformations, congruence, dilations, and similarity. Progressing from proportional to linear relationships, they master expressing and connecting linear relationships through equations, tables, and graphs. Handling linear equations in one and two variables deepens, along with understanding solutions to systems of equations. Linear relationships as functions are introduced, applied to variable data contexts. Exponents expand to integers, accompanied by scientific notation, and the Pythagorean Theorem. All units align with Idaho State Standards and recommended course structure.
Rigid Transformations and Congruence
What do I need to learn about? I will learn to visualize, describe, and perform translations, rotations, and reflections on a grid, understand and use the word "congruent," and discover new angle relationships through transformations.
Grow from: I'll gather everything I've learned about Rigid Transformations and Congruence. I will include evidence of my learning activities. For my project, I will complete the project in Schoology or submit one that has been pre-approved by my teacher. After receiving feedback, I'll revise and refine my project until I achieve mastery.
Dilations, Similarity, and Introducing Slope
What do I need to learn about? I will use dilations to describe transformations, make sense of similar figures and their properties, and understand the concept of slope and slope triangles.

For my project, I will complete the project in Schoology or submit one that has been pre-approved by my teacher. After receiving feedback, I'll revise and refine my project until I achieve mastery.
Proportional and Linear Relationships
What do I need to learn about? I will revisit representations of proportional relationships, build on my knowledge to identify slope and write linear equations, and solve problems using equations of the form Ax + By = C.

Linear Equations and Linear Systems
What should I learn about? I will solve linear equations with variables on both sides of the equation (e.g., 3(x+8)=30+x) and investigate systems of linear equations in two variables.
